• 1942 - In December 1942, City Council turned down license to operate.[2]
• 1942/3 - Skateland was leased to VFW Pelican Post 1383.[3]
• 1943/4 - Skateland became Danceland, sponsored by VFW.[4]
• By 1947, Simply known as VFW Club & Cafe.[5]
• 2012 - "After Ron Ballard helped secure a $1,500 grant and purchased 433 square feet of carpeting for VFW Pelican Post 1383, he and other post members began tearing up the facility's old carpet. They made a surprising discovery - hardwood floors."[5]
(It appears that someone forgot that it was a roller skating rink in 1939.)
